Season Launch Boating Safety Certificate New Inventory

Boating season begins on the St. Lawrence River

May is here — boating season has begun

Hello, Summerland Yacht Sales customers! May is here and the boating season has finally begun on the St. Lawrence River. As always, we appreciate your patronage this first year and look forward to continuing to serve your boating needs as we expand this operation.

We have started launching a handful of boats for those wishing to have their boat delivered already.

If you would like your fuel topped off and topside of your boat washed, let us know! We can do this for an additional fee. All boats stored with us did receive a full hull side wash prior to storage.

New NY Boating Safety Certificate Requirement

Required as of January 1, 2025.

As most of you know, a big change in the boating world is the new Boating Safety Certificate required as of January 1, 2025. This law requires any person operating a motorized vessel to have their NYS-approved boating safety certificate regardless of age. This will be the first season that any person operating a boat must have their boating safety certificate/license.

The coast guard will not be enforcing this on the water but the NYS police and troopers will! If you have taken the course at any point in the past your license is valid. Click the photo above for a link to the online safety course to get your certification for the summer if you don't already have it.

What’s Next?

The Thousand Islands Club docks are open as of May 1, 2025! The Thousand Islands Club/Horizon Marine is also offering a $500 dockage incentive for both parties if a referral is made!

The Thousand Islands Club restaurant plans to open mid June. Dinner reservations will be available on Open Table.
